One of our own Team Members ‘Jade Walton’ another of our photographers at Lens to Life was married in February this year in Lorne. Below is a little more about their big day and how they met:
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. Matt and I met behind the bar at the Pavilion. I worked in the bar and Matt was my manager. That was 12 years ago.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Matt proposed in the drive way of our home. We were leaving for the airport late one night and as we were pulling out it felt as though Matt ran over something. He sprung out the car “to have a look” and before I knew it he was on 1 knee with a ring in his hand. I cried, not even sure if I said yes straight away.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon? Please include dates of departure & return.
A. We are heading to Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia, can’t wait!!
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Both the ceremony and reception are being held at Allenvale in Lorne. It took months to find the perfect location but as soon as we arrived at Allenvale we knew its where we wanted to get married. The property is stunning. Its only 3 mins from the centre of Lorne & a million miles from anywhere.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. My dress is by Sass & Bide & my shoes are Alana Hill. I am wearing Gold earrings from Country Road.
My dress is gorgeous and very “me”. It’s Ivory & has a high neck line with gold embellishments. The top half is fitted & is polka dot tulle from the waist down. It is finished off with a single layer of of polka dot tulle on the back.
Q. Hair & Makeup – please describe what your hair and makeup is like and who the suppliers are.
A. My hair and makeup artist is Jodie Porter. I’ll be having a high soft bun and smokey eyes.
Q. Who is the person conducting your service? (celebrant, minister, priest etc).
A. Our Celebrant is Linda Hamill
Q. Florist – what are your flowers like & who is the supplier?
A. My flowers have been put together by my good friend Brooke Lynch.
As a alternative to the traditional floral bouquet we have chosen to go with native plants, bracken, twigs and berries. Think Robbin Hood but by the beach.
Q. Transport – what mode of transport did you choose and who was the supplier?
A. Our good friend Sean will be driving us in his old HR Holden.
Q. Food & Drink – what are they like and who is the supplier if not venue?
A. We are having a food and wine festival style wedding with food trucks and a caravan bar. Our Food Trucks include Toasta Truck, Trailer Made, Nem n Nem, The Brulee Cart & Short Batch Ice Cream Cart. Drinks served by Tom Collins Caravan Bar
