John & Kristen’s Phillip Island Winery Wedding was held on 11th February 2017. Below are a few questions we like to ask our couples so we can get to know them a little better.
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. We meet on the 3rd of January 2009 at a friend’s house, we shared many close friends but strangely had never meant until this night. John actually thought on first meeting me that i could do with another drink because i was so quiet. I thought John was a bit loud but also a bit cute.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. The proposal took place the morning after John’s grandma’s 80th birthday party. The 80th was held where John’s mother had grown up and also where his parents married in Moulamein. The following morning, they went down to the old pier before heading for home. This was almost a non-event as they had a 6 hour drive ahead of them and i really just wanted to hit the road but John did finally convince me to go down there with him. John said “Now that you have met the whole family, do you think you can cope with them all?” As i was thinking, “Well yeah I’ve been with you for over 6 years, I think I know what I’m in for,” John pulled out the engagement ring. I was in total shock but it didn’t stop me from snatching the ring out of John’s hands. In fact, i don’t even remember saying yes until prompting from John later in the day.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. Unfortunately we are not going on a honeymoon straight after our wedding, however we are planning a big trip to Europe in June this year.
Q. What are your future plans together?
A. After our big trip to Europe we are planning to move back to Victoria, possibly buying another house and definitely ready to start having a family of our own.
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. We chose Phillip Island Winery for our ceremony and reception. We wanted a venue to cater for both our ceremony and reception, have an outdoor area with a relaxed feel, upon viewing the winery and meeting with Sierra, who is just wonderful to deal with we booked it in.
