Spencer & Michelle’s Sorrento Sailing Club Wedding was held on Sunday 20 December 2015. Below are some words form the happy couple about how they met and their special day.
Q. When and how did you meet? And what were your first thoughts?
A. Spencer and I first met lifeguarding at a local swimming pool 10 years ago. My first impression of him was that he was tall, quiet and a bit of a goof. Spencer couldn’t get a word in because I talked so much to him.
Q. When and how did the proposal take place and how did you feel?
A. Spencer proposed last April (2014) while we were walking along the beach, with a message in a bottle. I was very surprised and excited.
Q. Where are you going on your honeymoon?
A. We are planning on going on a honeymoon sometime in 2016, but we are not yet sure of the details.
Q. What are your future plans together (e.g. buying a house/starting a family)
A. We plan to go on a few big trips overseas and finish our post-grad. studies. We have already purchased our first home and are enjoying being parents to our fur-baby Django (a Siamese cat).
Q. Where is your ceremony and reception being held and why did you choose these venues?
A. Our ceremony and reception is being held at the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club. Originally it was planned for the The Baths Restaurant a few 100m further along the beach, but unfortunately that burnt down. We are very excited that the SSCBC could us in at such short notice.
Q. What does your wedding dress look like? Please give a detailed description and also include any accessories including jewellery and shoes.
A. I’ll be wearing a Maggie Sottero dress. It is a chiffon sheath dress that is both vintage inspired and timeless. It has Swarovski crystals that are draped across an illusion neckline and back. I’ll be wearing some diamond studs and my engagement ring. My shoes are white wedges from Betts.
Q. Do you have a Theme or style to your wedding? And if so, what is it?
A. Simple vintage inspired coastal wedding
