Port Melbourne Jetty was the location for the melbourne wedding of Emma & Kyle and even the bitter cold of the wind couldn’t put a dampener on the fantastic day had by all. I must say these guys took it all in their stride with how cold it was and it was a credit to them as they weren’t going to let anything spoil the day. We didn’t manage to get to many beach shots which they were hoping, as we were all getting blown away, but we made up for it at some other great locations in Melbourne. Below is a short summary of the day as told by the Bride & Groom and the little details they mentioned are also summed up with images underneath.
Where Was It? Our ceremony was held at Finger Pier, Port Melbourne were we wed in front of 30 close family and friends – we liked to call the spot, our little pontoon out in the water! And the reception was held at The Point Albert Park where 100 guests joined us in celebrating our marriage.
Theme or Style: Modern Elegance with a laid back beach feel.
A Memorable Moment: I had my hair down and curled and due to the light breeze (as we call it), after the ceremony, I quickly popped back into the hair salon, dress and all and had my hair quickly redone. It was rather funny walking in and have everyone stop what they were doing and pamper you. Bride’s really can do anything!
Wedding Planner: My mum and I organized the whole event, with a little assistance from Kyle of course.
Description of Bride’s Dress: My dress was a Wendy Makin design – It was the first dress I tried on. A fitted lace strapless champagne gown. Love heart neckline with pearls down the back and completed with a silk bow at the front.
Flowers: Flowers were from Flowers of Distinction. I had a last minute change the week of the wedding as our flowers were not in bloom due to Melbourne’s four seasons in one day. So I mainly left it up to the florist and it was quite a surprise on the day. I absolutely adored them.
Bride’s Shoes: I always wanted to wear flats and I managed to find sandals from Wittner that had pearls and a bow that matched my dress, I felt so comfortable all day.
Cars: We borrowed our friends 1954 Custom line. We had a little incident where the car stalled in the middle of Melbourne, but it didn’t take too long and we were back on our way again.
Celebrant: Di Kleinert – who we cannot thank enough, she is so relaxed yet so professional and fun. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting with Di.
Jewellery/Accessories: I had a hair piece made at The Sewing Room, they used the lace and material of my dress.
Hair & Makeup: Makeup was done by Kelly from Dior and our hair styles were done by rokk ebony.
Wedding Favours: We created our own white lolly buffet, it was a massive hit on the night.
The Cake: I came up with the thought of cake balls (which was cake dipped in white chocolate and then decorated) to keep in the theme of our cocktail style (finger food) and had Alicia from Kake make them for us. It was her first time but she did an incredible job! They were a delicious white chocolate and raspberry flavour.
Invitations & Stationery: Invitations were simple and elegant, again with the white theme. I designed the style and they were printed by Matt McLennan.
Food & Drink: Cocktail style reception – consisting of finger food: oysters, skewers, etc. main course was noodle boxes of fish and chips to keep with our beach theme.

Anything else? It was very easy picking Lens to Life as our photographer. When we met Lucas we felt he had that laid back approach like us. We didn’t have to pose as such, we could just be ourselves and he captured in the natural moment.
